I recently visited Sempre Uno for the first time with a group of friends, and I can’t say enough good things about it! From the moment we arrived, the lively and vibrant neighbourhood set the perfect tone, and the restaurant itself was so welcoming. The vibes were friendly, the service was incredible, you really feel like you’re being treated like royalty. The food was absolutely outstanding, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I’ve been to several Italian restaurants in Vancouver, but this one truly hit the mark, both in taste and in value. Plus, while their Italian dishes are phenomenal, they also offer a variety of other amazing options, all crafted with the same level of care. The chef is clearly passionate, and the entire team makes you feel right at home. I’m so glad I discovered Sempre Uno! it’s now my go-to Italian spot, and I can’t wait to go back again and again. If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience, definitely check this place out! Fatima
Our family has dined here a number of times and always had a wonderful meal. The pastas are so so so delicious - perfectly cooked, great flavours, and the wine list is really nice as well. The waiters provide a warm and knowledgeable service, they are very friendly! I also appreciate the Italian music that is played. This restaurant can be good for fancy nights or more casual family nights - yes it’s white tablecloths and upscale, but never stuffy - definitely try the pastas!
Absolutely outstanding experience! From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and professional. The food was exceptional—every dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. The ambiance was equally impressive—elegant yet relaxed, with a great atmosphere that made the whole evening feel special. Thank you for making a double birthday celebration memorable.
Cant say enough about this restaurant. Every visit is a new dining experience and they always hit it out of the park. To keep it short, my partner and I dine there about 6 times a year and we seem to get the same server on every visit which definitely isn't a bad thing as he is truly a professional and his service is exceptional. Tonight he sold my partner and myself on two specials, Saltspring Mussels and Prawn pasta which were both delicious BUT the mussels were AMAZING !!!!!!! Thank you for your continued excellence . I also encourage patrons to thank the kitchen crew on the way out as they are most often the behind the scene people who never get recognition. Thank you all! Until next time......Doug & Kevin
Had a fantastic dinner. Great food. We loved our outstanding server. The Verdicchio which I didn’t get to take a photo of was delicious. Absolutely coming back.
Loved the risotto - great flavour! Enjoyed a modern approach to prosciutto and melon served on a bed of arugula and topped with Parmigiano. I enjoyed it with an order of fresh bread, which I quite liked - foccacia with herb inclusions. For dessert, although I am not a big cherry person, I did try the Ciliegie Filate, but it's not for me. Having said that, it was a nice combination of textures, and if you do like cherry, you ll probably love it! Lastly, great service, which I really appreciated.
If your a tourist you may think this is the place for Italian food. As a local - it’s probably one of the worst! Wasn’t even offered fresh pepper for any dish. The squid was mushy and undercooked - which made me rethink the the seafood I was going to order for main dish. So instead I opted for a safe pasta with a sausage and fennel cream sauce. It was decent, but definitely not a wow factor that would bring me back. We celebrated my mom’s 80th birthday so they brought us a free scoop of their chocolate gelato. We took one taste of it and it was so icy - horrible. Even for free we didn’t eat it. Definitely won’t be back.
Came for a birthday on a rainy Sunday evening. The inside is beautiful and feels a bit more dressed up than the other options on the North Shore. We tried a few drinks from their Negroni menu and were impressed. The salads and squid we ordered for starters were fantastic. All of the pasta dishes were delicious. The portions were surprisingly large, which was nice. Overall a great spot at the bottom of lonsdale for some higher class Italian.
